You don鈥檛 have to wait to begin your college experience. NSCC鈥檚 Early College Partnership and Dual Enrollment Program provides an opportunity for qualified high school and home-schooled students like you to earn college credit while completing high school graduation requirements. The NSCC Early College program provides opportunities for high school students to take college courses while still in High School. Students may choose to do so to finish requirements for a high school diploma or for personal enrichment purposes. Start early at NSCC and go far!

Students should work with their school counselors and advisors to determine course selection based on the students academic skill level and educational goals.

Academic and student support services, including academic advising, career counseling, free tutoring, computer labs, and library access are provided to maximize success. Students are eligible to participate in NSCC-sponsored activities and clubs.

The Experiential Education and Internship Program supports all students seeking internship experience for-credit and not for-credit.

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), by definition, an internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths.

For-credit internships consist of in class or online coursework with an approved, faculty-supervised work experience. The work experience must relate to the student's program of study. Students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work and finish coursework assignments.

An internship may be: full or part-time, paid or unpaid, during fall, spring, summer, or year long.

If you have general questions about the internship program, please  contact Karyn King Fargo at kkingfar@northshore.edu

At Gateway to College our goal is to have the majority of our graduates continue their education beyond the program to:
