NSCC offers two types of ESL programs
ESL Credit CoursesThese are college-level classes that help non-native English speakers improve their language skills while working toward a certificate or associate degree. You may qualify for grants or scholarships. Steps to Enroll

ESL Non-Credit CoursesThese are pay-as-you-go classes focused on improving English for everyday life or work. They鈥檙e also ideal if you need further preparation to pursue academic studies. These classes do not qualify for financial aid. Steps to Enroll

You can take the Accuplacer庐 ESL Placement Test either via Zoom or in person at LS-215 on the Lynn campus or DB-213 on the Danvers campus (be sure to bring a photo ID). Additionally, you can schedule an appointment or drop in to meet with the ESL team at the Student Success Center in Lynn to determine your eligibility. Please note that all ESL classes are held exclusively on the Lynn campus.

Upon successful completion of LAC010 non-credit course, students can enroll into the
credit ESL program without additional placement testing.

Payment Options for Credit ESL Courses (Eligible for Financial Aid)
Students enrolled in credit-bearing ESL courses who are working toward a college certificate or associate degree must act on one of the following payment options* to secure their class schedule:
- Financial Aid: You may qualify for grants or scholarships that fully or partially cover your tuition. Complete the/MASFA application to find out if you're eligible.
- Pay in Full: You can pay your tuition by credit card, check, or money order. (NSCC does not accept cash.)
- Monthly Payment Plan: Available through your my9I果冻制作厂shore student portal.
- Requires a $40 non-refundable enrollment fee
- Credit/debit card payments may include a convenience fee
- Plans vary by semester (e.g., 3 monthly payments)

Payment Options for Non-credit ESL Classes (Pay-as-You-Go Format)
These classes are best for students who want to improve their English for personal or professional use but are not pursuing a college degree or certificate.
- Flat Fee: Each class costs $269, plus the cost of a required textbook.
- Pay Upfront: Payment is due at the time of registration. You may pay by credit/debit card, check, or money order.
- Please Note: Non-credit ESL classes are not eligible for financial aid.

When you become an ESL student at 9I果冻制作厂, you will have access to the following free services:
ESL Orientation
After you meet with an ESL advisor, you will be invited to complete the sign-up form for an ESL Orientation to help you get started at NSCC. During orientation, we will:
- Help you create your student account and email
- Assist you in getting your NSCC student ID card
- Give you a tour of the school
- Show you how to buy your books
- And much more to help you feel ready and confident for your first day!
ESL Conversation Groups, Computer Workshops, & Tutoring Support
Once the semester begins, all students will receive a flyer with the schedule for both the ESL Conversation Groups and Computer Workshops & Tutoring Center via their personal and NSCC email.
- ESL Conversation Groups - Practice speaking English in a fun and supportive environment.
- Computer Workshops - We鈥檒l teach you how to use a computer from A to Z. These workshops are perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to build confidence using technology.
- Tutoring Support - Receive help preparing for a quiz, test, or reviewing your class materials.
