Program Overview
The Community Health Worker (CHW) Certificate prepares students to serve as frontline outreach advocates and liaison service providers. Graduates are equipped to link individuals and communities to health and human services, enhancing access and improving the quality of culturally competent care delivery.CHWs work in both clinical and community-based settings, providing services such as health education, informal counseling, social support, direct care coordination, advocacy, and case management. These roles aim to establish and promote individual and community self-sufficiency and health capacity.
The program incorporates education in core competencies accredited by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, aligning with state certification requirements.
