The Developmental Disabilities Direct Support Certificate is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. The program combines academic coursework with practical field placements at local agencies, equipping students with the necessary skills to support children and adults in various settings, including recreational, residential, vocational, and educational programs.Graduates of the DSC program are well-positioned to make a meaningful impact in their communities by promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Program Highlights

  • Combines in-person and online coursework for flexibility.
  • Hands-on experience through placements at local agencies.
  • The 21 credits earned can be applied toward NSCC鈥檚 Developmental Disabilities Associate Degree or transferred to other institutions.
  • The program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services to provide education for employees at DDS-funded programs. Pay as little as $50 per 3 credit courses!
